Propellant Valve Package "C"
  • Valve assembly for enabling the flow of propellant to the spacecraft thrusters.
  • Mounts manual test valve and port, and manual charging valve and port.
  • A pyrotechnic valve opens when fired, allowing propellant to flow from the inlet to the outlet (the firing cartridge is not included).
  • Package C was for oxidizer, and an identical package D was for fuel.
  • Nearly identical types of valve packages used in the Reentry Control System (RCS) and the Orbital Attitude and Maneuvering System (OAMS). (This -11 unit is believed to be for the RCS.)
  • Component dated January 1964.
