Variety of sealed food packages of the type used on the International Space Station (ISS) and some Space Shuttle missions.
These packages are thermo-stabilized for long shelf life at room temperature.
Many ISS food packages such as these do not require water to be added. (Water on the ISS is limited because the ISS does not use fuel cells for power, which would produce water as a byproduct.)
Many of these packages have a handwritten red line or “III” on the label to indicate Class 3, for use in training.
Most have a small circular patch of blue Velcro for attaching to spacecraft surfaces.
Some labels describe the contents in both English and Cyrillic.
