Gemini Attitude Control Grip
  • Digital model of the Gemini Attitude Control Handle grip and cap assembly.
  • Grip features diamond knurled serrations to improve handling.
  • Cap would house two pushbutton switches for activating the astronaut’s microphone.

Now you can buy a display model of this type of Gemini control handle.

  • The “T” shape of the cap differs from the earlier Gemini design, an innovation requested by astronaut Tom Stafford to reduce fatigue when twisting the handle for yaw left and right.
  • NASA photo at right shows the grip from the Gemini XII spacecraft.
