FLOWN Space Shuttle Pressure Transducer
  • Pressure transducer flown on the first Space Shuttle flight (STS-1, Columbia).
  • Post-flight data analysis showed a 0.4 psi zero shift during the flight; part removed for repair.
  • During qualification testing after repair, the test oven failed, causing the part to be over-heated. Still functional but not suitable for flight, it was then designated for “Engineering Test Only.”
  • Rockwell part number ME449-0177-2108, Serial Number 154.
  • Removed on 6-11-81.
  • Original cost: $3,017.07.
