LM Descent Engine Throttle Meter
  • Meter, gauge or indicator for displaying the LM Descent Engine throttle setting in percent.
  • The commanded setting (whether set by the guidance system or by the astronaut) would be displayed under “CMD.”
  • The actual Descent Engine throttle setting would be displayed under “ENG.”
  • The Apollo LM Descent Engine was considered unstable between 60% and 100% of full thrust. So in practice the throttle would normally only be set for 0% through 60%, or for 100%.
  • Note that while the LM Descent Engine had variable thrust, the LM Ascent Engine did not.
  • Mounted on the Commander’s panel.
